Sailor Moon Crystal Set 1 contains the entire first season with 14 episodes. It has the original Japanese audio with English subtitles, as well an English dub by Viz Media.
Firstly, let’s take a look at the packaging!
Limited Edition Collector’s Box
I really love this box design. Look how gorgeous and shiny the details are :D The golden foil and cool print make it extra sparkly and is my favourite part of the packaging. The box is very sturdy and high quality. Cute stickers are always a plus too!!! =D
The back cover design is also very pretty, though with Sailor Moon doing her signature pose. I did notice an unfortunate grammatical error: “What is his connection to the Sailor Moon?” It’s minor but an official product shouldn’t have copy errors. This can also be found on various websites containing a synopsis of this series.
DVD & Blu-ray Combo Pack Disks
There are 4 discs in total; 2 DVD and 2 Blu-Ray discs, each containing 7 episodes per disc. Considering the Japanese releases have 2 episodes per volume, this sure is a sweet deal. The disks are very pretty.
Art Cards
Art Booklet
Included is a full color 88 page book with character sheets/items/props,cast interviews as well as episode summaries.
The Blu-Ray Menus.
The DVD Menus.
The Blu-ray menus are full motion menus! They are absolutely gorgeous. they are really beautiful with music playing in the background. The DVD menus are beautiful as well, however, the menu upon loading was pretty grainy and the quality is downgraded.
Conclusion
All in all, it's a very exciting time. We are FINALLY getting Sailor Moon Crystal on Blu-Ray!! The quality on the blu-ray is fantastic. I love the updated animation and it just made me appreciate this arc so much because of how beautiful it is.
Viz, you did an awesome job. The packaging is amazing especially the gold foil and little accents all throughout the box. I love the inclusion of the art cards and the booklet. Not to mention those breathtaking blu-ray menus!
